Phil is known for his ability to both teach and play golf at a high level. Phil worked for GOLFTEC, the largest golf instruction company in the US, for over a decade. Prior to that he spent nearly 8 years working for Mount Vernon Country Club where he led the junior golf program and provided individual instruction to members of all skill levels. He has been a member of the PGA since 2003 and holds several awards and certifications for club fitting.
As a player, Phil is a former Division I standout who played for Radford University before turning pro. As a professional, Phil has competed on mini tours across the country and has played in multiple major Tour events along with competing in several PGA Professional National Championships. He was listed as the #23 player of the decade (2010-2019) for the MAPGA. Phil is also a former finalist for the MAPGA Teacher of the Year and Bill Strausbaugh awards.
The junior programs will be led by Phil Bowers, PGA. Phil led the junior golf program at Mt Vernon CC during his tenure there and is a former chair of the MAPGA Junior Golf Committee. Phil spent the previous 10 years teaching for GOLFTEC, the largest golf instruction company in the country. Phil looks forward to bringing his expertise to the junior golfers at Prince William GC.
Phil is excited to join the Prince William family and bring his unique teaching style along with his enthusiasm for growing the game. Phil is looking forward to leading the teaching programs at Prince William and creating a positive learning environment for golfers of all ages and skill levels.
