If you follow the PGA Tour, you probably know the June - August time frame is when professional golfers convene to a golf course somewhere in the Washington D.C. Metro area for the Quicken Loans National.
The 2016 tournament begins today, Thursday, June 23rd, at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland. As you might remember, last year's event was held at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club right around the corner from us in Gainesville, VA.
If you ever get the chance to go to a PGA event, I absolutely recommend it. Last year was the first time I got the chance to attend an event and it was a lot of fun. What's really nice about golf events is you can choose how you'd like to watch it. Many folks have a favorite golfer that they follow around from the 1st hole through the 18th. I like this option because you get a chance to see the whole golf course and it also allows you to see the numerous different shot types a pro can take.
Another option is to pick your favorite spot on the course and watch the entire field come through. One advantage of this strategy is you get to see everyone in the field, so you'll get a chance to see the world's best, rather than watching one group. Also, by watching one hole you can see how each player approaches a hole differently, which can also be rather interesting.
The 2016 Quicken Loans National will run from June 23rd - 26th. You can watch the television coverage on the Golf Channel and on CBS.
